The village of Carros

Located at 400 meters above sea level, built around a 12th century château, the town has kept all of its traditional architecture.

The perched village

Evidence of human occupation at the site of the commune can be traced back to the late iron age, a period commonly known as pre-roman (500 BC to 100 BC).

Thanks to the abundance of pictorial evidence, we know that it was due to the roman colonisation that the community of Carros was able to grow into one of the most important trading posts in the area.

With a stunning view of the vallée du Var, and a unique position between the mountains and the sea, Carros is the gateway to the Alps.
